These terms apply to the purchase of reports from Cairngorm Research Limited, trading as Locacity (company number SC877959), registered in Scotland at Summit House, 4–5 Mitchell Street, Edinburgh, EH6 7BD (“we”, “us”, “our”), whether on this website (the “Site”) or otherwise. These terms are in addition to, and do not override, the Terms of Use. By purchasing a report you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. What You Are Purchasing

When you purchase a report from us, you are purchasing a one-time, non-transferable licence to use a digitally generated PDF property safety report for the address specified. Three report tiers are available for purchase:

  • Basic — comprising our safety rating, regional ranking, crime breakdown by category, monthly crime levels and (where applicable) stop and search data.
  • Essentials — comprising our safety rating, regional ranking, crime breakdown by category, monthly crime levels, 3-year crime trends, regional trends for most common crime types, comparison with national crime rates and (where applicable) stop and search data.
  • Enhanced — comprising our safety rating, regional ranking, crime breakdown by category, monthly crime levels, 3-year crime trends, regional trends for most common crime types, comparison with national crime rates, (where applicable) stop and search data, 999 police response times, 999 ambulance response times (England only), nearest emergency facilities, school safety analysis and local transport hub safety analysis.

Each report type is subject to the data exclusions and limitations detailed on the How It Works page on our Site.

All prices are in GBP and are inclusive of VAT where applicable.

2. Delivery

Reports are generated after payment is confirmed. Users should allow a reasonable period of time for report generation and delivery, including making allowance for the fact that some areas have higher crime rates which leads to increased report generation and delivery times.

Reports are delivered by two methods following successful payment and report generation. An email will be sent to the email address provided by the user on the payment page with the report attached as a PDF file. A download link will also be presented on the confirmation page following successful payment which allows download of the report as a PDF file. It is entirely the user’s responsibility to ensure that they have software available to them which allows for PDF files to be read. No responsibility is taken or liability accepted by us in relation to the availability, operability and working order of software necessary to view any PDF file sent or provided by us. No refunds shall be provided where the PDF file cannot be read or accessed due to third party software or some other factor beyond our reasonable control.

A user who has not received their report within 30 minutes of successful payment may contact us at contact@locacity.co.uk for us to investigate and where appropriate for resolution.

3. Accuracy of Data

Report data is sourced from Police.uk, the Office for National Statistics, NHS England and other publicly available sources, and is subject to the inherent limitations of those sources, including but not limited to the following:

  • Publication delays of approximately one to three months (in some limited instances the delay may be greater);
  • Incomplete coverage for certain police forces and areas; and
  • The possibility that data is erroneous, inaccurate or incomplete.

We make no warranty or guarantee whatsoever that the information, data or content in any report is correct, comprehensive, accurate, complete or current.

Nothing in any report should be relied upon as the sole or significant basis for any property purchase decision, property sale decision, property rental decision, property letting decision, property investment decision or other significant financial decision. Nothing in any report should be relied upon as the sole or significant basis for any other type of decision including, but not limited to, a decision about insurance, personal safety or property security. You should always seek independent professional advice when considering whether to make any such decision or decisions.

4. Permitted Use

Reports are licensed for your personal or internal business use only. You must not:

  • Resell or commercially distribute any report without our express prior written consent;
  • Reproduce or republish report content publicly without our express prior written consent; or
  • Use report data, information, structure or content to build a product or service that in any way actually or potentially competes with our products or services.

5. Refunds

We do not offer refunds once a report has been generated and delivered. By completing your purchase you acknowledge that generation and delivery of the report begins immediately upon successful payment confirmation and you consent to waive any cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 that would otherwise apply to digital content.

If a report fails to generate or is not delivered within 30 minutes, please contact us at contact@locacity.co.uk.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cairngorm Research Limited shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the report or any content or data on or provided by it, or of any third party link or source, including but not limited to loss of profits, loss of data or property, loss of opportunity, business interruption, other economic or financial loss or damage, whether in relation to contract, delict, negligence, tort or other form of action.
